Description

Devaraja Mudaliar, the author of this book and ‘Day by Day with Bhagavan’, was one of the very few devotees who felt free to have a special, privileged relationship with Bhagavan. He called himself ‘Ramanasey’ (Ramana’s child) and behaved like one. Though Bhagavan was Parabrahman (Supreme Brahman) Itself to all his devotees, many of them felt too awed in his presence to be free with him. However, like Prof. G.V. Subbaramiah, Mudaliar combined a sense of awe with a sense of full freedom with his Master. It was as if Arjuna continued to be free with Lord Krishna even as He manifested His Cosmic Form.

To Mudaliar Bhagavan was Brahman, counselor, Father in Heaven and father on earth. He would ply him with questions, sing devotional songs, crack jokes and air his personal problems. This book brings out Bhagavan’s great sense of humour, at times at his own expense and never at that of others, his constant concern for his devotees’ welfare and spiritual progress, his unequalled equal vision and how it was an experience of freedom and bliss to be with this freest of men.
